supervision, industrial computers, process monitoring, process control, automated manufacturing, E-manufacturing, batch, control of automated production (discret or not).

Pedagogic informations

Training objectives
- explain the concepts of supervision of production systems. From those, we explain the monitoring process problems, computer process control problems and automated methods of manufacturing.
- explain the concepts of e-manufacturing. It focuses more on the "batch" with the international standard ISA 88 and ISA 95.

Learning objectives
- know the main aspects of the supervision order to analyze a need, write a specification and/or to use a supervisory system quickly.
- understand the e-manufacturing concepts
- know the main aspects of BATCH standards in order to analyze a need, write a specification, and/or to use a BATCH system quickly.

Learning context

Course content
I Supervision
• Introduction : definition …, the C.I.M. Pyramid, E-Manufacturing
• Industrial supervision : why to how . . . Why . . . Who . . .How . . . With what. . .
• Examples : centralized technical management system, oil refinery, pharmacological Production
• Industrial supervision : implementation, specifications (control, monitoring, supervision), Needs Analysis (Contact the operator, conduct graphic treatments, process alarms, perform archiving, allow programming, provide operational safety), main tasks (connect to the process, process data, display information to the operator, configure archiving, other tasks: communicating with other programs)
• Conclusion : Tomorrow ? ? ?
II E-Manufacturing
• Introduction : definition …, the C.I.M. Pyramid, E-Manufacturing
• From sensor to ERP : E-Manufacturing ( definition, purpose), Advanced control and decision-making hierarchy
• BATCH : Principle and standards, models of the ISA S88.01 ( physical Model, procedural Control Model, process Model, model link between the equipment, model of type of recipes), the interface with the process (« Phase », what Phase Logic Interface (PLI) ?), Implementing a language (example : « Proficy Batch Execution »)
• Manufacturing Execution System : why MES ? How to answer the why ? The 11 functions of MES, ISA S95, example « Proficy Plant Applications »
• ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) : definition, the constraints at the enterprise level, sample software, implementation of an ERP (prerequisite before implantation of an ERP, method recommended for the implementation of an ERP, implementation of an ERP, change management, key success factors),
• E.R.P. ou P.G.I. : the current market, technological developments: Internet architecture / Intranet, workflow, the SME market, the extended ERP
• Conclusion : Tomorrow ? ? ?
